Alex Martinez del Rio
Alex Martinez del Rio is a Dublin based architect and illustrator inspired by the eclectic mix of historic buildings on view in the skylines of Irish towns and cities. His architectural line drawings, which look simple at first glance, immediately draw the eye to their delicate details. This series features beautiful illustrations of the many characterful brickwork chimneys, merry sailboats and cranes, stone church spires, towers and cathedrals in much admired places. Cork’s rose windows and clock tower, Galway’s broad cupolas, and Dun Laoghaire’s iconic new library and harbour are all transcribed with care.
